Fibre Concrete Solutions is pleased to welcome Simon Evans to the team.
Simon, who is a chartered engineer, has over 20 years of experience working with fibres and fibre reinforced concrete in a range of applications. His experience includes the development and testing of new fibres and solutions for concrete reinforcement and concrete applications, providing cost-effective design solutions with detailed engineering support and providing training to the construction industry to customers and users of fibre reinforced concrete across the world.
In his new role with Fibre Concrete Solutions, Simon will assist in furthering the engineering and technical support that FCS are able to provide to customers.
Previously, Simon has been an active participant in the development of a number of Concrete Society guides including Technical Report 34 “Concrete Industrial Ground Floors”, Technical Report 63 “Guidance for the Design of Steel-Fibre-Reinforced Concrete”, Technical Report 65 “Guidance on the use of Macro-synthetic-fibre reinforced Concrete” and Technical Report 66 “External In-situ Concrete Paving”.
Simon has also been active in the development of relevant standards such as EN14889-2 “Fibres for concrete – part 2:Polymer Fibres”, where for many years he was a member of CEN/TC 104/WG11, and also attended a number of committees at the American Concrete Institute (ACI) with regards to the use of fibres in industrial flooring and shotcrete applications.
