Our Concrete Construction Joint Solutions

Audax and Audax HD Joints

For traditional long-strip construction with formwork applications, Fibre Concrete Solutions offers its brand of joints known as Audax and Audax HD. These joints serve as alternatives to traditional dowel bars and are tailored for scenarios where armoured joints are not utilised, such as in long strip internal and external concrete floor slab construction. Designed to facilitate movement within concrete slabs while ensuring efficient load transfer across joints, the Audax dowel plate system consists of a rhombus (or square for HD) shaped steel plate within a triangular (or rectangular for HD) sleeve, allowing horizontal movement of the concrete slab, induced by drying shrinkage and thermal contraction, in two directions. Audax and Audax HD restrict vertical movement between adjacent concrete slabs, enabling engineers to accurately calculate load transfer across the joint. Easy to install, Audax and Audax HD joints come with bespoke dowel sleeves that are fixed to formwork prior to pouring concrete. After stripping the formwork, the Audax and Audax HD dowel plates can be easily inserted into place their respective sleeves before the next pour commences, eliminating the risk of misaligned dowel bars and locked joints associated with traditional round dowel bars.
